 Hi,
I have created a picasa album, which is visible in the front end of my website with no issues.
The problem is that when I add images to the picasa album (online). I can see them online but I cannot see them on the web page..... I.e the webpage does not appear to be reading the online album changes.

Is there something I should do to make this happen, some kind of refresh interval or something?

At present I am trialling this gallery before buying the extended version, and this automatic update is critical to me using it as my preferred gallery.

Looking forward to a quick response.

Rob

I guess this page will help you out: http://www.svenbluege.de/joomla-event-gallery/event-gallery-manual/intro-and-installation#things-you-should-know

A response from Picasa is cached for some time to avoid performance issues. You can always clear the components cache to reload it or you simply wait a day.

Hi, thanks for letting me know. I'll check it out tomorrow, by which time the refresh should have gone through on the google site. Interestingly another gallery I was trialling and discarded (Ozio) did show the pictures immediately, so must force a refresh automatically. Is there no way that your gallery can be configured to force a clear cache after a configurable period of time, rather than waiting 24 hours?

Event Gallery 3.3 will have a configurable cache period. But it would be not wise to reduce the duration. It is quite expensive to grab the data from Google so it is a very good idea to reduce those costs as much as possible. That's what Event Gallery is doing.

Sven,
Glad to know it's being considered.

Thanks for your prompt response.

I am confused about one thing. When I downloaded I got v3.1.5, but the website suggests there is a v3.1.6 and v3.2.0?

Am I right I saying that you get access to these when you subscribe? Or are they not available because they are not Generally Available.

Rob

sbluege
Actually both. Event Gallery 3.2 is available as a Release Candidate for users with a subscription only. There will be the usual free release later.

robbie8
Version 3.1.6 changelog talks of performance improvements but wasn't available to download.

Is there a link to it that I can access?

Rob.

sbluege
Ah... from there you've got this information. Great to hear somebody is reading this :-)

3.1.6 is just a developer release. It is available with a subscription.

robbie8
Ok. That makes sense.

Thankyou for clarifying all that.

I am going to close the ticket for now, whilst I try to work out how to use picasa - new to that too.

Will be back soon.

Thanks

Rob
