When I try to create an event I keep getting told that I need to put a value in "Title *" even though I have.
I tried to create an event and the field for title in English (en-GB *) kept asking for a value.

Hi,
which editor do you use? Does it work if you use the build-in Joomla editor?
Friday, 06 January 2023 15:51 UTC
I use no editor.
Friday, 06 January 2023 15:53 UTC
And I get the same with the default editor.

Your screenshot shows a simple text field, not related with the editor. Are there JavaScript-Errors on that page?
Friday, 06 January 2023 16:34 UTC
No errors show no.

I can't reproduce this and no errors are visible. Strange. Can I see this somewhere? Note: please don't share credentials since this is a public ticket. You can send it by mail to info@svenbluege.de

Thanks. It works for me using Chrome. Which browser do you use?

I would have thought in the 21st Century we'd get over these "Please use another browser" issues.

Same here. I tested with Firefox 91.1 and encountered not issues, either. There is some JavaScript involved to fill the actual field with the localized values. This fails and the title appear to be empty.
Does in work in private browsing mode?
Friday, 06 January 2023 19:07 UTC
I just switched to Chrome but it's a hassle as I will use Event Gallery in a lot of sites and I typically use Firefox Nightly for the backend stuff.
I have another issue now though...
I can't seem to insert a single image into an article.
This is what the button produced for me:
{eventgallery-image event='History' file='Karate Family Tree v1.01.jpg' attr='image' mode='lightbox' crop='false' thumb_width='250' use_cart='0' }
But when I check the page it does not appear.

Firefox & Title: could you try the private browsing mode? I tested with Firefox 108 and 110.0a1 (2023-01-06) (64-Bit) without being able to spot the issue. Maybe there is a plugin causing this?
Image tag: on which page do you expect it? The content plugin is active; otherwise you would see just the raw tag. Now I'm curious in what the tag is transformed to.

On the history page just before the last 2 paragraphs. I bought the plugin as I needed this feature.
I have added it in Chrome as in the version of Firefox I have it only showed a blank page when I clicked the button.
The code inserts fine but when I view the page there's nothing and I also checked the code (CTRL+U) and nothing.
Very odd.

True, this is odd. Do you mind activating my account again? Would make spotting this easier.
Saturday, 07 January 2023 07:31 UTC
I have activated it for you and thanks for looking into this, appreciated.

I still get the message that the Login is denied. Can you double check, please?

I have emailed you the new credentials. Apologies for the mixup.

Got it. You're using the Event "history". This Event is not published. That explains the "empty" space where the image should be. Even used by content-tags, the Event/image needs to be visible for the user viewing it. Otherwise the rendering will skip this image.
I published the Event to verify this for a very short time and the image appeared.

Argh...! The stupid I feel right now. I haz stupid. So sorry I did not check this.
Saturday, 07 January 2023 08:16 UTC
No worries, I was also not thinking in this direction.
I'm still wondering about the title-field and the Firefox issue. If you can spend the time testing this in a private browsing mode (so without any plugin), this would be great.
Saturday, 07 January 2023 08:17 UTC
I'll do that now.

OK, so just tested and got this message.
Browser: Comodo Ice dragon 65.0.2.15 (64-bit)
So I think I need to switch browsers for development. I will switch to Firefox Developer edition.
Saturday, 07 January 2023 08:25 UTC
I just installed Firefox developer and am using that now as my main CMS backend tool and it worked well with Event Gallery, even saving a new event.
I do get this odd space on the menu for Event Gallery though but I assume this is something to do with the admin menu I use. I am still trying to find a way of having the menu horizontally aligned at the top.

Comodo Ice dragon 65.0.2.15 (64-bit) => I guess I will not test with that. Even the download page look suspicious and does not build enough trust to download it. Edge, Firefox and Chrome should be fine.
The gap in the menu is on purpose to give the menu a bit more structure. I had to trick the menu with empty menu entries. Otherwise, it is just a list of many links.
