Question about tag output
tags can be installed but they are not visible when viewed

I think such a list is not correct
I think tags should be displayed as Events - List
Your gallery is the highest quality
there is one more drawback

I use tags only for creation the opportunity to filter and create a navigation hierarchy. What would be the benefit of showing the assigned tags on an event/album page?
The tags-page simply shows a list of pages and is owned by the tag-component. I can't do much to add content here.
Image upload: well... Event Gallery is file-based. Every file you upload is stored with its filename in the file system. If you upload a file with the same name, it gets overwritten. You're right, I did not implement a safety net here.
filtering by tags is good

have to look through every folder with a tag to find
it's long and boring

Regarding security, in order not to lose the image, you can rename the file when loading

My intention for using tags is only to filter events for a menu item. That they appear in the Joomla tag-component is just a side effect, and I don't have any influence on how they render those tags. Unfortunately, this is true for search results, too.
Renaming a preexisting image sounds fair and has not impact on a batch upload. Maybe I couple this with a config option in the future.

You want to modify how "Events" are displayed within the Tags-component.
Right now, this is not possible since the necessary data is missing in the template. I'll add this to my list for investigation. With Joomla articles, this is already possible (see screenshot, the last entry is an article with an image). So, I would need to figure our if I can adapt the Event Gallery data for the tags component.
