When clicking on the image the down load box appears but shows "this file failed to load"

Hi,

that's not much information. Can you provide a link to your site?

Did you already had a chance to look into the FAQ section?

This is the link of the site we are setting up:
http://schilderijen.alphonsine.nl/index.php/mijn-tekeningen

This is an example url for a thumbnail: http://schilderijen.alphonsine.nl/index.php?&mode=full&folder=Tekeningen&file=11.jpg&option=com_eventgallery&view=resizeimage

You server throws an error here. Small images work, larger ones cause trouble. How large are your images? I guess the server memory limit for PHP is too low. Can you try to increase it please?

Yes I looked at the FAQ but could not find an answer.

The images are under 3 MB. I have phpinfo.php enabled.

Right now a PHP process as access to 128MB which is a lot. But it all depends on the size of the original image. 3MB does not help since images are stored compressed. What is the size regarding pixels?

In addition you can have a look at the error logs of your server. Do you see anything there? It might also help to increase the Joomla error reporting. That might reveal some information as well.

Seems indeed to be an image size problem. Resizing the image solved the issue. Seems that the prugin cannot handle pictures above a certain size but it is not easily known what this max is.

Thanks.

That is actually wrong. The software dose not care about the image size. The configured amount of memory is causing issues. If you increase it to 256mb your images might work.

Try to open the image in Photoshop with 128mb ram ;)
