Before I answer the question I have a question for you. Qhere did you get Event Gallery 3.5.6 from? There is currently no free version and you don't have a aubscription.
That is not how it works :) I have very bad experiences with doing this. Please check the demo page for details.
If you want to customize the buy popup you can use plain CSS. Since it sounds like you're a professional that should not be a big deal.
Sounds good. If you file the tickets with accounts having a subscription I don't need to ask funny questions ;)
According to the buy layer: did you checked the possibilities you have with css?

Actually none. You need to create overriding css and place it in the templates css file. The development tools of your browser come in handy here. Never edit a components file directly. You'll lose your changes with every update.
