1. After update joomla to 3.6.2 version i have problems with border black in the images. See attachments (resize.jpg ) right and bottom border.
2. And who to change quailty ? Now, after upload I have blurry image. See attachments original=>resize

strange i copy site on localhost (PHP Version 5.3.13) - works good!
on my server - PHP Version 5.6.18-pl0-gentoo - have border around

maybe this problem:

There was a bug in older versions of PHP 5.6, maybe it came back. Please update the the latest version of PHP 5.6. Make sure you clear the thumbnail server cache to see a difference.

clear chache same problem....
i change version on my server test on php 5.7, 5.3, 5.6 this problem not go away, i guess its not problem php.

There is no PHP 5.7. And I don't think you're using Event Gallery 3.5. Are you sure you did the right thing? Did you delete the /cache/com_eventgallery* folders? Can you provide a link to this site?

It works on your local host so I guess the code calculating the images is correct. What are the differences between your remote webserver and you local webserver?

yeah, on php 5.7 not work component.

I'm use event gallery 3.5, joomla 3.6.2.

Yes, i did. Delete cache folder - image recreat width black border again.

Tested:
on localhost, denwer (PHP Version 5.3.13) - works good!

other server: PHP Version 5.5.9-1ubuntu4.9 - works good!

sweb.ru hosting:

PHP Version 5.6.18-pl0-gentoo - not work (same black border )

change on this server in hosting panel: php 5.5, php 5.4, php 5.3 - not work (same black border )

Conclusion: not work only sweb hosting. Out of ideas. I guess maybe need some php module ?
This problem appeared after upgrading joomla 3.5.x to 3.6.2.

Tested images in attachments.

Event Gallery 3.5 is currently not available for free. Where did you get it from?

Your resized images appeqr unsharp. Please disable the sharping in the components option, delete the generated thumbnails and try again.

hmm... its real bug. sharp was disabled.
decision: just RESAVE same config event gallery, delete cache and this work !!

my config:
Use Rendering Fallback - no
Image Quality - 95
Sharp Original - no
Use auto rotate - no
Overwrite with IPTC data - no
Show Filename - no
Shuffle Images - no
Use Original Files - no
