There's something strange here, when I upload files, multiple or solo, I find error in the jpg format, it appears as a broken picture and can't be seen, but if the format is png it shows normal, no problem here.
I tried with different names, sizes, etc, etc, etc and can't make it work.

I tried the site in a local (mamp) and in the server and it's the same for both

Any ideas about why does not support jpg?

Thanks

right click the thumbnail and open it in a new tab. Maybe you need to use the dev tools of your browser to get the image url. What do you see?

reicker
Here is what it appears.

Also, I can see the files in the folder images/eventgallery/demo/ and they are fine!

You're close. Do you mind opening the background-image in a new browser tab? What do you see? If you see a blank page please increase the error reporting using the Joomla! global options.

reicker
Yes! like you said it, in jpg is a blank image, and in png I can see the image

Your server seems to handle urls which end by .jpg incorrectly. To verify this just add an addition random url parameter to the image url like &foo=bar. If this works, please check your server configuration to fix this.

reicker
I added the parameter in the url to verify the server and it still not working, so... it's a server configuration problem? any idea how to proceed?

What about the live server? the problem was there too

sbluege
You added the parameter somewhere in the url which does not change the ending. Please add the parameter at the end of the url and try again.

First of all, THANKS for the quick answers, it's really nice to know how much you care about people using you component! :D

and second, it have the same problem at the end.

sbluege
Since we ruled that out it can be a memory issue as well. Please check your server error log. Does it work with smaller jpeg files?

How large is the jpg you try to use?

reicker
I've tried with a lot of sizes of jpg and in all of them I have the same problem

sbluege
Okay. Can you check the error log of your webserver please? Since you see an error page for some urls only I would expect entries there. Which version of PHP do you use? Do you have the php module GD2 installed?

in addition please attach the image you're using here so I can give it a try here.
