Hey there,
I'm currently using the Event Gallery extension in my website.
One problem, I can only assign the event to 1 category.
Is there any way or can you help me to customize so that I could assign the event to multiple categories?
Much appreciate for prompt reply.
Thanks.

Just like with Joomla Articles your can only assign one category to one event. But try tags. You can assign multiple tags to an event. That's what I do on this page to sort events. With Event Gallery 3.5 you can native Joomla! tags.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

But I don't want to use tags.
Look, in my website, I have 4 menus.
Menu 1 : Gallery 2014 + Gallery 2015.
Menu 2 : Press Release 2014 + Press Release 2015.
Menu 3 : Gallery 2014 + Press Release 2014
Menu 4 : Gallery 2015 + Press Release 2015
Per events, I hope to assign Gallery/Press Release & 2014/2015.
So, in the Menu I can assign accordingly.

Is there any possible to customize the category column to multiple selection?

sbluege
Of cause it's possible. But unfortunately I can't do it. That's not how Joomla! categories work and this will cause trouble in other areas.

charlene0621
The customization will cause trouble in other areas by mean areas within Event Gallery extension?

Another question, I'm wondering, in the Edit Category page, Category tab, description column, where will the content published at?

sbluege
The customization will cause trouble with Joomla!. Category handling is a Joomla! build in feature. If you change that you need to implement this stuff yourself.

The content is used if you create a menu item of type Categories.

If create another field called Category 2, is that possible?
I don't mind subscribing if that's any way in order to assign the event to multiple categories.

Sorry, but I'll not build anything like that. Especially not since there is a workaround. Please make yourself familiar with tags. You can use them like categories. Just assign tags like 2014, Gallery, Press Release 2015, Gallery 2015 and use them to filter events visible for a menu item.
