 Hi,

I'm trying to get comments enabled but when I follow the suggestions

Comments are only available on single image pages which you'll get if you use the pageable layout.

I change to pages but still get http://campx.co.uk/index.php/gallery/event/Campx-2014

Please check the menu item configuration. It overrides the components options.

I guess you're using a menu item to link the gallery initially, right? Check the configuration of this menu item for additional tabs where you can configure the layout.
