Dear Sven,

EventGallery shows only jpg files which have a size of 2 MB. Bigger jpg files >2,5 MB are shown broken.
But this restriction seems to be only for jpg, if I upload a gif file 9MB is no problem...
No matter if I use the upload via FTP or directly over EventGallery.

Very strange... Hope you have any idea?!
Thanks in advance

I´m using the newest stock version of joomla (3.3.6) and EventGallery (3.2.1)

I guess your server has simply not enough memory to process those files. You can easily see this by opening such a broken thumbnail in a new browser window. If you see just a blank screen increase your error reporting level.

While the gif file size might be larger it does not mean that it needs more RAM since it has a lower color depth.

Jep, unfortunately you´re right. So the only solution will be to change the webspace, right?

You can also try to disable the sharpening and the auto rotation in the components settings. This will save memory and it might help to get it working.

You have already 128MB. So I'm wondering how large are your images in pixel?

marcel
the biggest size I use is 5456x3632 with 350dpi
but even the small ones (sony cybershot 14mp) won´t work

I sized them down to 72dpi and it works

sbluege
That's kind of funny. Changing the dpi value does not change the size of the image. Instead you downscaled the image. A good image size is 2000px for the long side.
