I have noticed that pictures in lightbox are of lesser quality than uploaded in the gallery. Is there a reason for that? In the option page I set Image Quality to 95. Is it that related to the view? 100% is not possible to enter.
Even colors are less brighter.
In attachement there is the print screen, windows view vs lightbox.
It's a website based on showing pictures. I cannot use the extentions if I cannot find a solution.

Hi,

I agree that this image in the lightbox looks different. We need to figure out why. How are the image rendering settings in the options of Event Gallery set? Do you use the sharping feature? Who do you handle the original image? Can you attach the image you're showing on the left side of your screenshot to this post, please?

I have tried a different browser. I was using Opera, I have tried Chrome and things go better. I attach a print screen for comparison.
Windows view vs Opera vs Chrome.
I attach the original pic and a print screen of Event Gallery settings for images.
Have you experienced differences with Opera as well?

By the way, anything to say about this image settings?

Thank you.

For the attached image I don't see a difference. Can you attach the image from your first screenshot, please?

If you upload the same image again, you might need to delete the cache in /cache/com_eventgallery_images and te browser cache. According the the configuration, the lightbox should show the original image without any modifications except recompressing the JPEG image.

Here is the first original colored image.
With colors Opera has less saturation and still low quality, Chrome (and I have now tried even Firefox) just a bit less but accettable.

Hmm... regarding sharpening I don't see a difference now (see attached screenshot).

If you see a difference color-wise, Event Gallery uses the color profile of the image even for thumbnails and browsers do actually respect them. That might depend on the browser, of course. But the Windows-viewer ignores color profiles and show images over-saturated.

Just tried Firefox, Edge and Chrome. Those images look similar.

I won't use Opera then, although I don't understand why this browser is so bad as for showing pictures in lightbox.
Maybe this ticket can be useful for someone else in future.
Ticket closed. Thank you.

I installed the latest version of Opera. When I compare the different browsers, I can't spot a different. The only thing which worries me is the different in sharpness in your initial screenshot. Are you sure the left side shows the file you send me? Is it possible that is shows a higher resolution image?

Nimis
All pictures tested were the same. I tried on a different computer, my notebook, even with Opera there's no difference.
I don't know why Opera on my pc have lesser quality using lightbox. I have updated the browser.
No matter, problem solved for me.
Thank you very much.

Alright ;)

by the way, I recommend uploading images with 1600px. This should provide the best results.
