#3430 Google Photos Import Generates Deadlock

I used the Google Photos Import Button last weekend to import 257 albums into Event Gallery.
As advertised it took a long time, but I also got a messages that a deadlock was created and was advised to try again.
All of the website operated as normal at that point with the exception of Event Gallery.
If I tried to open Event Gallery it took a long time and after that I got the Deadlock message again.
Finally the problem disappeared and when I went to Event Gallery I noticed that the import had run perfectly.
So this again is not a big deal, but I thought you should know.

Hi,

"deadlock" is the wrong term I guess. You get timeout errors, right? 257 Google Photos albums are a lot!! How many images do they contain? With the Google Photos API a lot of requests are necessary to retrieve all the information and that API is very slow.

So far I don't have a solution for this. I need to query the information at some point in time. A cron job would work but I don't think regular users can set that up.

I agree, but that was part of the error message I got.
Unless there is something very very smart built in there is no way the system can tell the difference between a time-out and a dead-lock.

So do not worry Sven, in the end I got all the albums I wanted.
And what is more your Component runs fantastic, it seems to have not much difficilty with lots of photos.
I have not counted recently but there must be approx. 3000 photos.

Shall we close this ticket or is there something you'd like to do.
