Hello,

Since .gif are supported, are animated gif supported as well?

If yes, mine are static thumbnails. But it did work before
with another extension (RSMediagallery) which also required
GD library.

Additionally, in the lightbox fullscreen view, can .gif's
be zoomed to fill, since they are usually quite small.

Still waiting for the day that .webm will replace this
format :)

Additionally

I've tried to disable:
Use sharpening
Sharp Original
Use auto rotate

Uploaded via ftp, synched via synch button again, but still, a static thumbnail - the .gif were between 900kb and 2mb.

Sorry fur having just bad news. Event Gallery does not support animated GIF files. The resize code can only resize static image files and does not take animations into account. Enlarging images not not supported too since this look basically always ugly. The best way to use Event Gallery is with plain but large JPG files. PNG and GIF are supported but do usually make no sense.
