Hi i am building a new site to replace my old site and was wonder how could i transfer the data over to the new site without having to upload everything from scratch i have moved all the images to the correct place in images is there a way to copy the settings over?

robwnesbittuk
I have now synced the gallery and all the events are there is there a way to transfer the settings for example most have passwords and tags and would like them to transfer over and several i have added descriptions of and that took a while as there was over 600 photos in one event, i was thinking of copying the com_eventgallery in the old to the new they have the same version so would that work? many thanks for taking the time to help me and by the way this is a fantastic extension worth every penny thanks for designing it

Did you tried to use the build in import/export feature? You can find it in the top toolbar on the overview page of the component. That might help if you don't use categories.

hi i did try this and i get this error - 1146 Table 'superpho_superphotography.tk650_eventgallery_token' doesn't exist SQL=SELECT * FROM `tk650_eventgallery_token`

sorry to be a pain

sbluege
Seems like you used a new table prefix. The import can't know about that. You can fix this in the downloaded zip file manually. You can also copy the #__evengallery_* tables manually.

robwnesbittuk
really sorry i am crap at sql how would i do this i didnt create any custom prefixes i never touch the db is there a command i can put in sql to copy the tables over?

sbluege
Wait.. maybe there is an easier way. Open the downloaded zip file, delete the file #__eventgallery_token, zip it again, try to import this. I forgot that this token table does not longer exist.

robwnesbittuk
i have not got a .zip file downloaded it doesnt get that far or is it saved to the server?

sbluege
Okay, I missed that you stuck with the export. So forget my last posts.

Which eventgallery tables exist in your database?

do you have more than one joomla installation in this database? Maybe there is an older installation containing the -eventgallery_token table.

robwnesbittuk
hi i dont im afriad is there a link to an older version you could send me i could install it on a dummy site

sbluege
Please have a look at the latest build: https://www.svenbluege.de/joomla-event-gallery/eventgallery-download/event-gallery-bleeding/3_4_0

It might help to get the export running. Please let me know about your findings.

robwnesbittuk
i have installed the new version and now it does export a .zip file so fantastic but when i try ot import or open it says that the archive is damaged or unreadable in eith winrar on the pc or when i import straight back into the same version or the new site so something is going wrong with the zip save sorry thought we had cracked it then
