 Morning Sven
Can you or are you looking at implementing a blind client access. I mean that a gallery does not have to be published/pulic, only a client key/pass box is displayed for multiple client access. But not using the Joomla user login. Which does mean privacy for curtain clients and also us as we can hide our work.

Thanks
Andy

I don't see the point here. You can use user groups to protect your albums. Or you can assign as password to an album. That's it. I have a component which allows to enter a unique password and redirects the user to the album which it belongs to. Those albums are still visible in the list of events but at least this is a nice way to let people access those albums directly.

Hi Sven
Sorry for the time in replying. I had a gallery expo to sort out.

Regarding the need for blind entry to events/albums is.

1: With having hundreds of events it gets very messy to view trolling through the events. You have a App to easy go to a event/album as a search engine. But the overall display will be blotted and not user friendly ( looks good for the photographer to say hey look at all the work I have done)

2: Client Confidentiality. I have clients that they do not want others to see what is going on. If its not displayed others will not try and hack the site to get in.

3: All the other photographic sites have the ability to have blind pass code access.

Hope this explains my request.

Well.. you refuse to use the build in features but refer to others?

Why don't you just create a new menu item and apply a tag filter "client". Now you create a new event and assign "client" as tag. Result: the new menu item shows this event. Next you use the build in user group restriction and hide this event from others. Result: people will only see their albums on this page once they're logged in. You can do the same with categories.

But you need to use the Joomla User Management. I don't see the point to implement a copy on my own.
