So i have a question about the SYNC database button

I have an FTP folder where i upload files called "Paris 2015"
In there i have uploaded a folder called "MARCH"

Now i can go into the admin area and click the SYNC button.
Event Gallery is going to say HEY I see new images! Where would you like me to place them?
And i tell it what Category....boom....they are done

Now what happens if next month i go back to Paris on a trip
And i come back with a new folder called "April"
Can i upload that folder again inside the "PARIS" folder
Click the SYNC button and now theres TWO folders worth of images added to the "Paris 2015" Event?
 do i have to?
ok HI!!

There is no support for subfolders. If you need a hierarchy use categories or tags. This works like the joomla articles.

So upload you images to a folder below images/eventgallery and hit this button. I'll create a new even or add the new images to an existing one.

ok i think i get it. Tell me if i got this right

So if i have the original folder "Paris 2015"
located under images/eventgallery and i upload images into a folder called "March"
i can take all the March photos and TAG them with "Paris 2015"
then theyll SYNC with "Paris 2015" Event

Later on i can come and upload another fulder under images/eventgallery/Paris 2015
This folder is called "April"
As long as i tag those images with "Paris 2015" as well
they SYNC Database will add them to that same "Paris 2015" set of Events

did i get that right?
 do i have to?
ok HI!!

No! This is not what I said at all. There is no support for subfolders. Upload your images to your paris folder or create a new one. I think it would be better for you to use the back end instead of anything else.

ok good i got it
but i dont understand how "Tagging" plays into this.
Can you give me an exmaple?
 do i have to?
ok HI!!

antifm
ok im not quite sure how to make that work because it says
You can arrange the events within the following menu structure:

Menu Item 1 -> Event List with tag "nature"

But im looking in the back end at the different type of Menu Items we can create with Joomla
and none of them are "Event List"
but for the sake of trying im going to try and make a menu item type of "Events List"

so "Menu Item Type = Events List"
not to make that item show only a specific TAG of images, i have taken one of my "Events"
and tagged it with "Rock The Dress"

Now back to setting that "MEnu Item Type"
I am looking at the options and i see the following Tabs
Event | Events | Event - Ajax List | Event - Pageable List | Event - Image List | Link Type | Page Display | Metadata | Module Assignment

The first place i see i can do anything with Tagging is the "Events" tab.
This seems to be the ONLY place i can add a TAG in a field
SO in this field i add "Rock The Dress"
under "Filter the Events by This category" i left it set for Global

so heres where i am

  1. Create a New Menu Item of Events List
Under the "EVENTS" Tab, set the appropriate TAG in the TAG field
    Save and Close

***YOU must have already set an EVENT with corresponding TAGS used for that menu item***

Did i get it?
 do i have to?
ok HI!!
