Serving images from Amazon S3 or another S3 storage provider will make users load data from an external service: the provider of the S3 account the event uses, or the CDN or domain you entered as the public URL of the thumbnails. Which company that is, and where its servers are, depends on the provider you chose. Furthermore, your server will communicate with that storage service. This communication does not involve data of your users.
