Hi
My developer has recently installed Event Manager on my recommendation and I am now learning how to use it. I have hit a problem. I have just created an event called Mixed Media and used the normal image-list. The first time I looked at the front end, it looked beautiful, just like your Turkey demo. However, on subsequent tries the gallery reverts to pageable-list which I do not want.
Some help would be great.

PS I'm about to subscribe.

The kind of layout you get depends on the menu item configuration or the global settings. What exactly do you mean with "subsequent tries"? Just pressing the reload button? Or do you use another navigation path to access the event?

In every case check the menu item configuration.

Frankel
I can't re-create the original problem because I can't see the event at all now in the front end event though I have looked at your little videos on simple event and menu creation and have followed both of them. When creating the menu there doesn't seem to be a place to choose which event to attach to the menu item. I can choose the menu type i.e. event gallery but it doesn't ask me for the actual event.

My developer created an event and when I look at the menu for that item there is a place which contains the link information. However my menu does not.

I've attached screen caps for my mixed gallery (which does not show) and the test gallery (which does show)
Web site is karenfrankelart.com and both these items are in the Gallery under construction menu.

Thanks

Karen

Your events are published? They are visible for all users? Since the direct link to an event works this should be fine.

And you did NOT fill something into the "tags" field both at the menu items and the components options? Those tags are to filter events. Don't mix them up with meta tags. I guess that's what might happen.

Frankel
Thank you! you are quite right. I had filled in tags in the options.

so it works now?

Frankel
Yes. It is working. Thank you. Can you please tell me why two events are shown when i only choose one. When i choose "mixed media" from my menu it shows both my mixed media and student events. Thanks

I really appreciate the speed with which you send your replies. Thank you for great support.

Seems like you configured this menu item to show a list of event. That's what it is doing. If you want to see just one event there you need to use another menu item type.

Frankel
Thankyou. I will try the different menu types.
