Hello guys, thank you for this awesome extension.

I have a issue related to your component. It was working correctly in my local server, however when I moved to a web server my images were not displaying. I read that the function fpassthru is mandatory to make this component work properly, but my webserver does not enable this function regarding security reasons.

My question is: Is it possible to make the component work without the fpassthru function is enabled? What should I do?

Thank you very much.

You're using Picasa images? Event Gallery 3.4 uses curl in addition to connect to Picasa.

Its not Picasa... I'm upload the images to the server... any hope for me?

Right... an no, there is no hope for you from an implementation perspective. But maybe your hoster is simply wrong and blocks the wrong function.

I found this comment on http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6089594/fpassthru-alternative

I'm very confused as to why a provider would disable fpassthru. It's nothing more but a file read, and as the answers show pretty easy to replace. It's quite likely that this is blocked in error and passthru was meant to be (because that's an exec command). You should open a ticket with your hosting provider.

Buddy, I really appreciate your availability to answer my question in few minutes and even to search for a solution for that case.
This link was very usefull because I found a solution in it. Actually it may be a little slower but it worked for me and your component is working properly. I just read a comment which said to replace the fpassthru function "to echo stream_get_contents($fp);".
Thank you very much once again and sorry for the english mistakes.
