Hallo,

I have a general question about access control, categories and user groups.

The categories in Event Gallery are not the same as the Joomla categories for Joomla articles, correct? So I can't use categories in Event Gallery to limit user access?

I would like to set a category linked to an access level instead of setting multiple user groups for each event.

What does „default user group“ in global configuration, Event Gallery do? The group set here is not automatically set for new folders imported during „sync database“.

Access levels:
In Event Gallery in Categories > Search tools > select access: I can see the Joomla access levels. Can these be set for an event?

Thanks

Categories are native Joomla! categories so you can do whatever you like. However categories are not a way to protect events. You can hide a category but that does not mean your event is invisible.

You can manage the visibility for an event by user group or password only. There is no other option.

The default user group is the user group users need to be in if nothing else is specified by the event itself.
