Dear Sir,

I have a problem similar to ticket 1660 and 1661. In the back-end when checking the watermark everything is fine. The transparent .png watermark with white text is shown OK at the demo images at the watermark page. The watermark is also shown OK when looking at the event overview page. Just when you select an image and browse through the (larger) images the transparent background shows up blue, the opacity is ignored at all with non transparent images. I checked with different images, jpg and png. The watermark images where well below 800 px. I have cleared the cache etc.

I would like the watermark images everywhere to show up the same. You can have a look at http://www.fraaiefoto.nl/fraaieplaten/event/nieuw (OK) and http://www.fraaiefoto.nl/fraaieplaten/event/nieuw?lightbox=1 (not OK).

Arjan

I have two questions for you:

- which PHP version do you use?
- do you have the image sharping enabled?

adrop
PHP version 5.4.40
Sharpening see attachment..

You have two options to solve this right now:

- switch to a newer PHP version. If recommend using 5.6
- enable the image sharping.

PHP 5.4 seems to have a bug here.

Make sure you clear both the server and the browser cache to so a change.

I switched the sharpening on with no effect. So I switched it off again.

Then I migrated the whole site to an other VPS with PHP 5.6.14. This didn't solve the problem. The default PHP memory setting on this VPS was on 128M, Which was lower than on the original VPS. When I changed this to 256M the problem was solved.
Apperently it was a combination of PHP version and the amount of memory.

Thanks for your help!

Kind regards,

Arjan

I'm sorry, but I think you're mixing up some things. The amount of memory results in a pretty simple result:

not enough -> no image at all
enough memory -> you'll get thumbnails

I guess you did not clear the server and the browser cache and saw cached thumbnails. A very good indicator for this is that you did not see the sharping effect.

Server/Joomla caching was off in all cases. I also cleared the Eventgallery cache. The browser cache could have been messing up things allthough I also cleared that one. Anyway everything is working fine now. Ticket may be closed.
