 Hello Sven,

I am in the final phase of upgrading my website to the latest version. I want to use Event Gallery to show all my albums from Google Photos. Since I have more than 1250 albums to publish, I do not want to add them manually in the new website. Therefore I would like to automate this work. As a test I installed the latest version of Event Gallery (3.7.8) and created three test albums. Then I went into phpMyAdmin to export the 'xxxxx_eventgallery_folder' table to a csv file. My idea was to modify this csv file so that it contains all my 1267 albums and to import it back into the 'xxxxx_eventgallery_folder' table. All albums can be in the 'Uncategorised' category.
My question is; can I do this without getting into trouble in the future, or do I have to modify some other tables (like xxxxx_assets or xxxxx_categories) to do this? Or maybe you already have some sort of import tool?

Thank you very much for your time!
Best regards,
Rene

There is an import/export function: https://www.svenbluege.de/joomla-event-gallery/event-gallery-manual/usage#usage-overview

In theory moving just the #_eg_folder table is enough. Everything else is populated by Google data. Just keep in mind that 1250 albums is a lot. You might want to increase the caching time for Google Photos requests in the components options.

Hi Sven,

Thank you for your reply. It took me a while to test the different options. Due to the amount of albums, I decided to import the albums directly into phpMyAdmin. This works fine and gives me a bit more flexibility.
However, now I run into another problem. I will open a new ticket for this, because it does not relate to this question.

Thank you for your help on this one!
Best regards,
Rene
