Morning Sven

I have never been successful in ordering images from Google Photos despite setting the sort order in Google Photos for each album to Newest first. I still see the oldest images being displayed first in Event Gallery Extended. For each event I have also set the SORT attribue, although I believe that this probably only relates to local images, to ORDERING, USE GLOBAL and SHUFFLE IMAGES.

Nothing I have tried has been successful. Any ideas?

Hi,

you can't order image from Flickr and Google Photos in Event Gallery. The ordering is fixed to what Flickr/Google delivers. If you change the ordering remotely, please keep the cache in mind. It'll take some time to reflect those changes on your website if you don't delete the content of /cache/com_eventgallery_picasa or /cache/com_eventgallery_flickr manually.

Yes Sven, as I said, I am aware that you have to order the images in Google Photos. However, having done this, it doesn't appear to work as expected even when I clear the cache (which I do every time I make a change). I'm guessing then that you don't know why this doesn't work?

Sorry, meant to add two image attachments. The first is what I see in Google Photos ie ordered newest first, the second what I see in Event Gallery after I have cleared the cache.

I was able to sort the image by using the "Edit Album" option (see attached screenshots). Then I saved the new ordering and deleted the content in /cache/com_eventgallery_picasa

Sven, I don't see the custom option that you have chosen. I only see the 3 options above this.

Maybe the attached screenshot is helpful. You just need to drag&drop the images to sort them.

While I did an additional test, Google seems to take some time until the new ordering becomes available through the API. I deleted the /cache/com_eventgallery_picasa folder too soon. As a result, nothing had changed. After a minute I saw my changes.
